And it is that allergy appears as a response of our immune system (which releases histamine) to some external agents, such as certain foods or medications, chemical compounds, pollen, mites, bites or animals.

The most common symptoms are inflammation, skin problems, sore throat, excess mucus, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing and / or a feeling of suffocation, plugged ears and even muscle aches due to an accumulation of tiredness, usually due to not resting properly.

To avoid or reduce these symptoms we have vaccines and medications (always prescribed by a professional) which sometimes carry side effects, such as sedation, slowing down or learning and memory problems. Nasal sprays or filters, natural antihistamines, food supplements, changes in cleaning and / or eating habits and avoidance of the stimulus that causes the allergy. Sunrise and sunset are the hours with the highest pollen concentration , therefore, if you want to exercise, take a walk or enjoy nature, try to avoid those intervals in addition to those areas in those that the vegetation is abundant, at noon is the best time, since it is when we find the lowest concentration. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from pollen.

On those days when the pollen concentration is higher or you feel more affected by the symptoms, change clothes and shoes or take a good shower when you get home to avoid getting all the pollen from outside.

At home try to keep the windows closed to prevent pollen from entering and ventilate better in the hours of lower concentration (about 10 minutes is usually sufficient).

Cleaning is also very important (ideally with ecological products such as vinegar, bicarbonate or lemon, among others, chemicals irritate the respiratory tract) especially in those areas where the most accumulates dust; stuffed animals, curtains, rugs, duvets etc, if possible get rid of those you can in allergy season, or at least try not to be present where you sleep.
